Acceptable Use Policy
What you can and cannot do with EngageDigital, including the Assistant, client links and the API. It is part of our Terms of Service and applies to everyone who works in your workspace.
Who this applies to
This policy applies to the account owner, to every team member in a workspace, to anyone who uses a client approval, connect or upload link you send, and to any tool you connect through our API or MCP server. You are responsible for what the people and tools you give access to do with it.
It sits alongside the Terms of Service. Where the two overlap, the stricter rule applies.
Content you may not publish or store
Do not use EngageDigital to schedule, publish, store or reply with content that:
- is illegal where you or your audience are, or promotes illegal goods or services
- sexualises minors in any form. We remove it, close the account and report it to the authorities
- shares intimate images of someone without their consent
- threatens, harasses or bullies people, or attacks them for who they are
- promotes terrorism or violent extremism
- is defamatory, or infringes copyright, trademarks or other rights
- contains malware, phishing links or anything designed to deceive people into handing over money or data
- makes false health, financial or product claims likely to cause harm
- publishes someone’s private information without a lawful reason
Accounts and engagement
- Connect only accounts you own or are authorised to manage, and keep that authorisation in writing for client accounts.
- Do not create fake accounts, impersonate a person or a business, or hide who is really behind an account.
- Do not send spam or unsolicited bulk messages.
- Do not inflate engagement artificially through fake accounts, bots, engagement groups or coordinated inauthentic activity.
- Do not use the service to get around a suspension or a ban on any platform.
Using the Assistant
The Assistant drafts; you decide. When you use it, you may not:
- generate content that pretends to come from a real person who did not say it, or realistic images, audio or video of a real person without their consent
- create misleading political content or false information about elections and voting
- use it to produce anything this policy forbids elsewhere
- try to make it reveal another workspace’s data, ignore its safeguards or act without approval, including by hiding instructions in content it reads
Where a platform or the law requires AI-generated or altered content to be labelled, label it. Check facts, prices and dates in every draft before you approve it.
Client and upload links
- Send approval and connect links only to the people entitled to use them, and do not post them publicly.
- Upload only media you have the right to use, whether from your computer, your phone or an import from Canva, Google Drive or Dropbox.
- If a link reaches the wrong person, revoke it from the dashboard straight away.
API, MCP and automations
- Stay within your plan’s limits and our rate limits, and do not try to get around them.
- Keep API keys secret. Do not share them outside your organisation or put them in public code.
- Do not scrape the service, probe it for weaknesses or interfere with how it runs.
- Automations that publish on their own must follow this policy exactly like a post you write by hand.
- Do not resell access or build a competing service on top of ours without a written agreement.
Platform rules
Every network you publish to has its own terms, community rules and daily limits, and they apply to you when you publish through us. We enforce the limits we know about so an account does not get flagged, but following each platform’s rules remains your responsibility.
What we do about misuse
Depending on how serious it is, we may remove content from your queue, pause publishing, revoke API keys or links, suspend the account, or close it. We tell you what happened and why, unless the law or someone’s safety stops us.
Where content is clearly illegal, we may also report it to the relevant authorities.
Reporting misuse
If you see EngageDigital being used against this policy, write to [email protected] with a link or a screenshot. We acknowledge every report within 3 working days.
