Calling all Disney adults, children, and people in between – this one is for you. I’m sure I don’t need to go into too much detail about all the wonder and magic that Disney has brought to life for us.
Disney movies are some of the most beloved and well-known movies of all time. I’m sure we can all remember those defining moments in the movies. The shock of hearing scar saying long live the king!

The gut-wrenching pain of watching Ellie and Carls’s beautiful balloon love story. The belly-hurting laughs of watching Olaf dream about what he want’s to do in summer.
Regardless of age or walk of life, there is something so comforting about nestling down and watching your favorite Disney movie.
So, it comes as no surprise to me that you and your family might argue over which devices can log on to the streaming platform.
You see, when you subscribe to Disney Plus, only a select number of devices or accounts can play at the same time. Want to learn more about this number and how the streaming site works? Then keep on reading.
So How Many People Can Watch At Once?
You’ll be happy to know that in terms of knowing how many people can watch at once, Disney Plus’ streaming platform is relatively simple.
For some platforms, you’ll have a few different subscription options to choose from, and how many people can watch will vary on your chosen subscription. *Yes, Netflix, I’m talking about you.*
However, this isn’t the case with Disney Plus. There’s only the one plan and the only options you can choose from are whether you pay for the service monthly or annually.
So regardless of how many users you set up on your account, only a select number of those people can watch at the same time.
But what is that number? It’s four.
Any four devices can watch any of the movies or shows from the streaming platform at the same time. This might seem a little confusing since you can create and activate up to 6 different accounts.
These accounts are super helpful for tailoring the suggested shows based on your watch list and are perfect for parents as they can set up content restrictions for younger viewers.
Up to 10 different devices can be registered to your streaming platform too. This means you can choose to watch from your TV or a tablet or a laptop for instance.
But of these 6 accounts and 10 devices that you have registered, you’ll only ever be able to watch from 4 accounts on 4 devices at the same time.
Don’t worry if a 5th person logs on, you won’t be booted out of the platform halfway through your film or show. Simply an error code will pop up for the 5th user letting them know that the device limit has already been hit.
For smaller families within the same household, it’s not too hard to keep on track of who is on the streaming site.
However, I would advise larger families to try and keep some sort of schedule or to at least drop a message in a group chat to keep up-to-date with who is using the platform and when.
Is There A Disney Plus Family Subscription?

Unfortunately not. As I mentioned above there is only one plan offered by Disney Plus.
And while this definitely keeps things a lot less confusing, it’s not always beneficial and won’t always meet everybody’s needs. This can be a bit annoying.
Bigger families won’t have the option to upgrade their plans to allow for more devices to play at once.
So, for now, at least, it looks like we will all just have to learn to share and take our turns. Bit of a bummer if you’re looking forward to catching up on your favorite shows.
Does Disney Plus Do A Free Trial?
Nope. If you want to test out Disney Plus you’ll simply have to sign up for the plan. There are no 7-day or 30-day free trials for this service. But don’t despair too much, because once you’ve streamed one show you’ll want to stream them all.
I can predict that you’d probably sign up for the service after the trial anyway.
Disney Bundle For Ultimate Viewing
Did you know that it’s not just Disney Plus that Disney has under its belt? Oh no, they actually control entertainment giants such as Hulu and ESPN Plus subscriptions too.
The rules around how many can watch at a time remain the same, but you’ll have so many shows to choose from with this bundle that you won’t ever know where to start.
If you opt for the bundle you’ll actually get all three services at a discounted price too. And we all love to save money where we can, right?
With this deal, it’s not hard to see how Disney Plus is slowly but surely starting to creep up in subscribers to leaders of the streaming world such as Netflix.
Final Thoughts
Disney Plus is an amazing streaming service that not only has every Disney animated movie you could wish for but a whole lot more too.
Whether you’re an adult watching Marvel movies, a teen watching Hannah Montana or a child who loves Bambi – there is something for everyone.
Which is why you can ensure that there will always be arguments over who is watching on what device. Everybody wants a go. But only four can.
However, you can always rely on the GroupWatch feature which allows up to 6 different devices to watch the same show simultaneously if a few family members can agree on a movie or show.
As of right now, there is no way to upgrade your plan to allow for more devices at once, but hey who knows what might happen in the future!
