EngageDigital vs Buffer

Buffer is a good product and we’ll say so. It charges per channel, covers 11 networks, and posts to Google Business without managing the listing. If none of those 3 things matter to you, Buffer is a reasonable choice.

Figures read from buffer.com/pricing on 20 September 2026
20 clients · 10 accounts each
Buffer Essentials, 200 channels, monthly
$345/mo
EngageDigital Business, 200 or 400
$99/mo
Buffer Essentials is $6 a channel for the first 10, then cheaper in bands. The bill still grows every time you win a client.

Three real differences

Not a feature list designed to make us win. These are the things that actually differ.

01 · PRICING
Per channel, or flat
Buffer charges $6 a channel on Essentials and $12 on Team for the first 10, and less per channel above that. We charge one price and don’t count channels. Below about 20 profiles Buffer is cheaper; above that the lines cross hard.
02 · NETWORKS
Four they don’t reach
Buffer publishes to 11 networks. Reddit, Discord, Slack and Snapchat aren’t among them. If a client lives in a server or a subreddit, that gap is the whole decision.
03 · LOCAL
Posting to a listing, or managing it
Both tools post to Google Business. Only one edits hours, services, menus, attributes and action links, and shows you the search terms customers typed. For local clients that is most of the work.

Buffer figures from buffer.com/pricing, read 20 September 2026. Their plans change; check before quoting us.
Who it's for

Built for a lot of accounts and a small team.

Every other tool in this category charges by profile or by seat. If you have many of one and few of the other, that model works against you twice. Ours counts neither.

01 · NEW AGENCY
5 to 20 clients, 1 or 2 people
The phase where winning a client should raise your margin, not your software bill.
100 accounts, per channel$245
Here, Business$99
02 · CREATOR
1 person, 15 profiles
Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Bluesky, a Discord server and a subreddit. Per-profile pricing punishes you for being everywhere.
15 profiles, per channel$80
Here, Starter or Agency$19–49
03 · MULTI-LOCATION
1 business, 10 locations
Every shop has a Google listing and its own feed, and one marketing person runs all of it from the same screen.
40 profiles, per channel$165
Here, Agency$49
04 · YOUR OWN BRAND
1 business, a handful of profiles

More than 15 accounts?
Per-account pricing has already started costing you more than it saves.
Fewer than 5 people?
Per-seat pricing is charging you for a department you don't have.
Both true?
Then this is exactly who we built it for.
Per-channel figures use Buffer Essentials on monthly billing with its volume bands, read from buffer.com/pricing on 22 September 2026. Plan picks assume roughly 3 posts a week per account.
When Buffer wins

We are not the right answer for everyone.

If we tried to claim otherwise you’d find out in the first week, and then you’d trust nothing else on this site.

You run a handful of profiles
At five or 10 channels, per-channel pricing is genuinely cheaper than our flat plans.
You need it working today
Buffer has been running since 2010. We open in beta in October 2026.
Your clients drop in and out
Paying per channel means you stop paying the day a client leaves. That flexibility is real.
You want a mature ecosystem
Their integration list, browser extension and mobile apps are years ahead of a product that hasn’t launched.

Questions

Where exactly do the costs cross?
Around 20 channels on Essentials, where Buffer reaches $100 a month and our Business plan is $99. Below that they’re cheaper, above it the gap widens every month. The short version: a lot of accounts and a small team is exactly the shape we priced for.
Can I move my scheduled posts across?
Export to CSV from Buffer and upload it here. We’ll help with the column mapping on the first import.
Does Buffer really have a comment inbox?
Yes, on 10 networks, with AI replies and saved replies. That is not a gap in their product and we won’t pretend it is.
What do you do that they can’t?
Publish to Reddit, Discord, Slack and Snapchat, manage the whole Google Business listing rather than just posting to it, and hold the price flat as you add clients.

If the client list is growing, the maths is on our side.
